Art was joined by Brian "Rocket Guy" Walker, who shared his audacious plan to launch himself 30 miles above the Earth inside a homemade rocket. In his second appearance on the show, the engineer described his intent to set the altitude record for a civilian astronaut. He recalled a flight he took to 80,000 feet in a Soviet MIG fighter and the enthusiasm the Russians showed for his one-man space project.
Walker revealed the rocket construction and propulsion system that he hoped would carry him to the edge of space, as well as talked about g-forces and the effects of weightlessness on the body. The first hour was taken up by news and Open Lines.
