Open Lines, Radio, & Hubble

About the show

The date of this all-Open Lines program marked the 75th anniversary of the first commercial broadcast, and Art revealed that he had filed an application to the FCC to start his own station in Pahrump, Nevada. Art was awestruck by a new Hubble photograph of star formation with two towers of gas and energy, six trillion miles long and 7000 light years away. Calls came in about the image throughout the show.

During hour three, Art talked with Dr. Reginald Alton about a supposed suicide note from Bill Clinton’s Deputy White House counsel Vince Foster. Alton declared it an obvious forgery, and described the science behind handwriting analysis. One caller detailed the perils of being a wild mushroom hunter and how dangerous it could be, as he was almost shot by a competitor while in the field.
