The Varginha Alien Case

About the show

Just as the breaking news was announced that the Brazilian government is opening up some of its UFO files to the public, (the late) ufologist Dr. Roger Leir returned to the show to discuss his research into the famed incident in Varginha, Brazil, where he traveled to conduct interviews. The case began on January 19, 1996, he said, when a cylindrical craft was witnessed crashing and the Brazilian military arrived shortly afterwards to recover it.

Two similar alien beings were associated with the craft. They were described as having oily brown-skin, red eyes, protuberances on their skulls, and being between 4½ to 5 ft. tall, he shared. One military police officer, who allegedly allowed one of the creatures to rest on his lap during transport, became ill with mysterious symptoms and was dead within three weeks of coming into contact with the being, Leir said.

He also discussed his interview with a Varginha doctor who said he examined one of the aliens. The physician observed "reticulated skin," which though smooth, showed the outlines of scales, as well as a "claw-like appendage," Leir recounted. The creature, which showed the ability to quickly heal itself, filled the room with a "greenish haze" and then locked eyes with the doctor who reported a headache-inducing thought transference process that took place, Leir further noted.

The first hour of the show consisted of news and Open Lines.
