Dr. Kevin P. Ryan graduated Phi beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a BS in biology. He was awarded an NCI fellowship in immunopathology after two years of medical school and graduated from Georgetown Medical School, AOA magna cum laude. He then entered active duty in the USAF medical corps under the Health Professions Scholarship Program serving at various medical centers as Chief of Hematology Oncology and sub specialty medicine and Medical Director and Director of Tricare Region 10 Lead Agency. He served as special consultant to the commander at David Grant Medical Center Travis AFB and then Director of the Dutch Huyser Cancer Center.
Dr. Ryan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology/ Oncology and is a Fellow of the American College of physicians, a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and an emeritus member of the American Society of Hematology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians Executives and a member of Mensa and Intertel. He retired as a decorated full Colonel from the USAF and is a full Clinical Professor at UC Davis School of Medicine. He is the author of numerous research and clinical papers, book chapters and abstracts in Hematology/Oncology and has presented research at the regional and national level. After retirement, Dr. Ryan obtained degrees in music, wrote a bi weekly column for McNaughton newspapers and served on community commissions.
