The strange remains of an unidentified creature washed ashore at Lake Michigan this week and, as of now, the nature of the unfortunate animal remains a mystery. According to a local media report, the curious carcass (which can be seen below) was discovered on Wednesday morning in the coastal community of Grand Haven when resident Shelia Schmidt gazed out the window of her home and spotted something unusual on the beach. At first glance, she suspected that the seemingly spotted creature was a dead cow, but grew doubtful of that assessment and decided to venture out to the oddity to get a better look at it.
Though she believes that the creature could have been a goat, Schmidt observed that the popular online response to her pictures of the mysterious animal is that it was a deer, while others have suggested that it could have been a dog. That said, she ultimately conceded that "I don't really know what it is." Equally uncertain is what will become of the carcass as calls to various agencies that would presumably be responsible for removing the remains have yet to result in the eerie body being taken away.
