Minnesota Man Arrested for Allegedly Pelting People with Skittles

A Minnesota man is in hot water with the law after he allegedly barged into a restaurant and began pelting people with Skittles. The bizarre incident reportedly occurred this past Sunday in the city of Mankato when, cops say, Tristan Stetina burst into an unnamed eatery and started shouting at the staff and some of the patrons. According to police, the already strange disturbance took an even weirder turn when the young man pulled out a bag of Skittles and began flinging the fruit-flavored candies at the stunned onlookers. No doubt fearing that the situation could escalate further, someone quickly called the cops and reported the unfolding fracas.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the floor of the restaurant covered in Skittles and one patron indicated that she had experienced a "stinging pain" in her back as a result of being struck by the weaponized candy. This was apparently enough for cops to arrest Stetina for assault, though the young man did not make it easy for them as he actually attempted to flee the scene as they were in the process of handcuffing him. The ill-advised escape only compounded his legal troubles as he was hit with multiple charges for the misadventure and, if convicted, could face up to 18 months in prison and have to pay a $5,000 fine.
