A woman walking along a beach in Canada could not believe her eyes when she stumbled upon the nightmarish remains of a mysterious creature that had washed ashore. The gruesome discovery (seen below) was reportedly made by Terran Walker as she and her family were strolling along Shaw's Beach on the province of Prince Edward Island. "I was shocked and amazed we were the ones to find it," she later recalled, "but also sad to think about how it ended up there and whether it suffered." Beyond that, Walker was also bewildered as neither she nor her family could identify the curious creature that they had come across on the beach.
"At first we thought it was a small shark, due to the teeth, which were extremely sharp," she said, though she eventually dismissed that explanation as well as other prosaic possibilities such as a tuna or a salmon. Searching for answers, Walker eventually posted picture of the monstrous remains on social media, where the response was largely one of horror at the ferocious-looking sea beast. Fortunately, wildlife pathologist Dr. Laura Bourque was able to quickly solve the mystery, telling a Canadian media outlet that the animal was actually a dead dolphin that was reported to authorities back in December and "over the course of the winter, it was preserved quite a bit and then it started to decompose when it got to this time of year."
