Watch: 'Monstrous' Anomaly Spotted by Loch Ness Webcam Watcher

By Tim Binnall

An indefatigable Loch Ness webcam watcher recently spotted what he described as a "monstrous black shape" that mysteriously emerged from the water of the famed Scottish site. The virtual sighting was reportedly captured earlier this month by dedicated livestream viewer Eoin O’Faodhagain. While watching a feed from one of the Visit Inverness Loch Ness webcams stationed around the popular tourist location, he "noticed a jet black anomaly that was slowly appearing on the surface of the loch, less than a hundred yards from the shoreline."

To O’Faodhagain's surprise, rather than "dissolve into nothing," the peculiar shape became increasingly clear, which left the seasoned online monster hunter "dumbfounded." Speculating that the anomaly was "seven to nine feet long," O’Faodhagain theorized that what emerged from the water was merely the top of a much larger creature that was "moving ever so slowly in a controlled manner, and disappearing without causing any further disturbance." Remarkably, the oddity was visible for a whopping three minutes, which is rather long for a Nessie sighting, virtual or otherwise.

To that end, O’Faodhagain dismissed the possibility that the anomaly could have been a prosaic creature, like an otter or a seal, by virtue of how the suspected 'monster' moved. Of course, skeptics will say that the webcam scene is simply too indecipherable to determine what the weird shape could have been.
