Tracking Bigfoot

Date

Hosted byArt Bell

Tracker and naturalist James McMullen spoke about his research into Bigfoot. He also described searching for the endangered Florida panther, which was considered almost extinct, with no official sightings for many years as of the late 1980s. He interviewed locals and Native American tribes in the Everglades who saw the animal on a regular basis, and eventually proved that the species still existed.

Regarding Bigfoot, McMullen said that anyone with his experience could develop an immense amount of physical evidence so that you would never have to capture or kill one to prove the animal's existence. His goal was to gather evidence such as footprints and DNA. In August of 1997, McMullen actually saw the animal, which he "thought at first looked like a gorilla standing in the treeline." He also heard things like "savage cries, crawling yowls, and very gentle squeaks," which he recalled sounded like attempts at communication. Art then played an alleged recording of Bigfoot.

The fact that no Sasquatch has ever been shot or trapped was due to its "supreme intelligence," McMullen remarked. He also described an eerie experience where he heard footsteps in the swamp, only to find nothing there. Beginning in the third hour, he took questions from listeners. The first hour featured news and Open Lines.
