Jack the Ripper and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Bigfoot, and spirit beings were among the fascinating topics explored on this past week's Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a 'dead' woman who banged on her casket during her wake to alert her family that she was actually still alive, a new lead in the search for the long lost Amber Room, and a suspected showdown between fighter jets and a UFO. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.

Spirit beings were a hot topic of conversation on Coast to Coast AM this past week as two different guests talked about ethereal entities that may be watching over our lives. On Monday night's program, trance channeler Kimberly Meredith talked about receiving messages from angels and 'ascended masters.' She explained that by letting go of one's past traumas, they can open themselves up to connecting with these beings. Then, on Wednesday night's program, filmmaker Rich Martini shared insights into what he calls 'Divine Councils,' which are groups of spirit beings that served to guide us throughout our lives.

The legendary Amber Room was back in the news this past week as the discovery of a previously unknown railway track at a Nazi bunker complex in Poland sparked speculation that it could ultimately lead to the elusive lost treasure. Located in the Polish town of Mamerski, the find was made possible following a deforestation effort in the area, which led to a fresh examination of the base's remnants. With the location being a German stronghold during WWII, it has been theorized that the railway may be connected to the apocryphal Nazi 'gold train,' which is said to have been stuffed with treasures, such as the gold and amber paneling pilfered from a Russian palace, and hidden at the close of the war.

Could legendary author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle have been the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper? Historian Daniel Friedman made the case for this intriguing theory on Saturday night's program. He noted that the Sherlock Holmes creator's life was profoundly impacted by his father contracting syphilis, which ultimately led to the man being institutionalized and their family being dissolved. Friedman postulated that this could have been why Doyle, as the Ripper, targeted prostitutes in a twisted form of revenge. He also observed that there were a variety of Shakespearean symbols left behind by the killer at the crime scenes and indicated that the famed author had actually grown up steeped in the writings of the iconic playwright.

This past week featured a particularly eerie story out of Ecuador, where a woman's wake came to a sudden stop when her family discovered that she was actually still alive and banging on the inside of the casket for help. The unsettling incident began when Bella Montoya's son brought her to the hospital after she suffered what is believed to have been a stroke. Unable to revive the unconscious woman, doctors declared her dead and handed her body over to her family for burial. However, things took a wondrous turn at her wake later that day when they heard a commotion coming from her coffin and, to their profound surprise, found that Montoya had not passed away.

Bigfoot took center stage on Thursday night's program as researcher Matt Moneymaker detailed his extensive work investigating and searching for the elusive cryptid. Asserting that Sasquatch-like creatures can be found in locations around the world, he argued that these animals are likely to be closely related to Southeast Asian orangutans and gibbons. Moneymaker also posited that the fact that there are Bigfoot accounts across a wide variety of Native American tribes would seem to suggest that these tales are genuine and not merely some kind of shared folklore. Not unlike the UFO phenomenon over the past few years, he mused that the ridicule factor surrounding Bigfoot appears to be diminishing, which could open the door for some kind of disclosure in the future.

Perhaps the most compelling story of the week came by way of Michigan, where multiple witnesses reported seeing a pair of fighter jets engaged in what they described as a "dog fight" with a UFO. The remarkable incident began when Christopher Bilbrey and three friends suddenly heard the thunderous sound of the aircraft appearing in the sky over them in the city of Bad Axe. Wondering what the jets were doing overhead, their curiosity was compounded when they observed a metallic disc hovering in front of the sun. Amazingly, Bilbrey said, the fighter jets attempted to engage with the object on three occasions, including firing anti-missile flares, before departing the scene.
